Testimonial - Ian

Ian is someone that I would consider a great friend. We share so many similar interests and I thoroughly enjoy teaching him. He first came for lessons around 2 years ago and since then we've covered absolutely loads of styles, techniques and some absolutely incredible songs.
Ian completed 2 grades and developed a particular interest in anything that swings hard!
Here is some of what Ian had to say about his lessons with me:

A Celebration of My Students

I would say that I am very lucky when it comes to my clients. I always seem to get bookings from devoted, ambitious people, who are willing to put in lots of effort and time. As a result, many of my clients have taken exams to further their learning and have set attainable goals in mind. I have been teaching drums for many years and only very recently decided to keep a record of my students achievements. I have tracked down some of my students certificates but sadly I will never have a record of them all.
Below I have posted the ones I have managed to track down as a way to show just how great my students are!
Well done to everyone of my students who have taken an exam over the last 10 years. If your certificate isn't on here, let me know and I'll be sure to add it.

Testimonial - Alex and his mum, Simone

Alex is yet another student that I've watched grow up. He first came for his drum lessons 5 years ago and I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching him. Each week he arrives with great humour and a passion to develop his instrument. Both Alex and his mum wished to share their thoughts on their time as my clients.

Testimonial - Josh

Josh is one of my longest attending students. He was around 8 years old when I first met him and I have had the absolute pleasure of seeing him grow into the well rounded, intelligent and ambitious individual he is today. He does make me feel old though. Josh was very kind and wrote about his time having lessons with me.

Drum Jam!

So in the midst of all the Pokemon mayhem, that seems to have taken over everyone's lives, I arranged a meet up with two of my favourite fellow educators (Mr Ryan Bright and Mr Matt Sowerby).
It seemed at first that it wasn't going to happen. We'd arranged for the Saturday but Matt had some live sound engineering work to do so that left just myself and Ryan but we decided to hold off until Matt was available.
A few days later, on the Tuesday, we successfully arranged a meet up that we could all actually attend. We met up at Ryan's practice studio and each set up our pride and joy.

Testimonial - Fred and his parents, Blythe and Rodger

I have taught Fred for the last 4 years and he's an absolute joy to work with. His sense of humour is second to none and his energy is infectious. He's come along way with his playing and I'm really proud of his achievements. Fred and his parents (Blythe and Rodger) had some kind words about my teaching and I asked if they didn't mind me posting them on my website - being the lovely people that they are, they didn't mind at all. They are a wonderful family and I'm lucky to know them.

Keith Carlock/ Ash Soan Drum Clinic - 23/05/16

Much to my frustration, this is the second time I have had to write this blog post. I posted the original within days of attending the Keith Carlock/ Ash Soan clinic event but unfortunately the post was accidentally deleted.

The clinic was held in Castleford and was a lovely gift from a student of mine. Teejay and his Dad Tom bought me the ticket as a thankyou for my work in Teejay's lessons and I couldn't appreciate it more. Tom managed to grab us some absolutely incredible seats and I managed to get some great pictures of the two drum kits as we arrived.
